Nakhon Ratchasima police chief Pol Maj Gen Ongarj Phiewruangnon said police would give the reward to anyone providing a tip leading to the tracing of the pickup truck that chased after the MP’s vehicle.
Farut, a son of Chart Thai Pattana MP Chada Thaiseth, was killed in Nakhon Ratchasima early Monday.
Police believe the attack was triggered by the road rage as Toyota Land Cruiser Prado being driven by Farut and the pickup truck of the attackers were seen constantly passing each other.
Pol Lt Gen Phanu Kerdlarpphol, the commissioner of the Provincial Police Bureau 3, said police had interrogated about 10 witnesses but had not received clear information about the pickup truck driven by the attackers.
Ongarj said several teams of policemen had been dispatched to try to locate the pickup truck.
Pol Col Wachirawit Kritritthisak said police believed there were at least two attackers, the driver of the pickup and the one who fired at Farut’s vehicle.
Watchirawit said the gunman must have had good shooting skills because he fired only two shots at the Prado and killed Farut.
