Wall St ends flat

U.S. stocks closed mixed in sluggish trading overnight as investors looked ahead to some key economic reports.
Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 11.54 points, or 0.09 per cent to end at 13,564.64.

S&P 500 fell 1.87 points, or 0.13 per cent at 1,459.32.

Among the key S&P sectors, energy led the decliners, while consumer staples climbed.

Nasdaq composite dropped 0.87 points, or 0.03 per cent to 3,177.80.
