Counter service soon to be available for national park admission

Visits to national parks will soon become more convenient, with tickets to become available at privately operated Counter Service outlets nationwide, the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department has announced.

The department will cooperate with the Counter Service Co in offering the service to the public through more than 8,500 outlets nationwide. People can pay for entrance fees, accommodation and other charges to access the country’s 127 national parks at Counter Service outlets,

National Park Office Director Wittaya Hongwiangjan, said the Counter Service outlets will be convenient for national park visitors and enable parks and recreation authorities to control the number of tourists as well as solve the problem of malfeasance among park officials. The traditional ticketing service will not, however, be abolished.
He was quoted by Thai News Agency as saying the new service should be launched within six months.
