Rajdamri Road closed for Reds gathering

The section of Rajdamri Road in front of CentralWorld has been closed ahead of the gathering of the red-shirts, who are commemorating the dispersal three years ago.

In his Tweet, Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has announced he would make a phone call to address a red-shirt rally at the Rajprasong Intersection Sunday evening.

Barricades are in place, along with trucks to block traffic in and out of the section. On May 19, 2010, the red-shirts were dispersed from the Ratchaprasong Intersection, leaving a score of demonstrators killed and injured.

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung played down the gathering.
Before joining the unofficial meeting of Thai-Lao ministers in Chiang Mai today, he said there is nothing to signal violence.
It was just a symbolic meeting, to commemorate the incident three years ago, he said.
Chalerm denied acknowledgement to possible ministerial changes at the Interior Ministry.
