An Italian man was nabbed in Chiang Mai for allegedly stealing millions from Italian financial institutions, while a French woman was arrested in Surat Thani for allegedly defrauding 1 million euros in construction payments in her country.

Deputy chief of Immigration Police Pol Maj-Genenral Chitsanupong Yuktathad said Stefano Raccaqni, 38, was arrested on Tuesday at a request from Interpol for defrauding Italian banks and finance firms of more than US$8.6 million (Bt257.6 million).
