Uttaradit residents warned of possible landslides

Uttaradit Disaster Prevention and Mitigation chief Surachai Tatkiwon yesterday advised local administrative bodies in nine districts to watch out for possible forest run-offs and landslides now that it has been raining for five consecutive days.

Though there has only been 50-60 millimetres of rain so far, Surachai said it was expected to continue raining non-stop until Sunday, so everybody should be on guard and people should follow weather reports more closely.
Meanwhile, the Wat Mon Mai rescue foundation has alerted all its volunteers to prepare tools, including ropes, emergency lights and flat-bottom boats, as authorities monitor the level of water and rain volume round the clock.
