The Nation's music groups strike a cultural chord

The Nation Band, the Nation U Band, and the Nation Chorus are now ready to make their mark in local communities through music and song.

“They will be integrated into social work via, for example, charity events,” Nation Multimedia Group (NMG) chairman Suthichai Yoon said.
There are many business units under NMG, including The Nation and Nation University.
According to Suthichai, the university has provided full support to these three musical groups – such as rehearsal facilities, speakers, trainers, and assistance in finding forums or stages for the bands to deliver their performances.
The Nation Band, the Nation U Band, and the Nation Chorus were set up more than a month ago. They have already performed at seminars and various internal activities of NMG.
“Through their performances, they have proven the power of music in uniting people,” Suthichai said. He added that the Nation Band was preparing to perform at more public events, using various styles of music.
“We will be pleased to bring Nation University students to various venues, perhaps foreign embassies or companies, to sing,” he said. “If you hire the Nation Band, Nation University students will be happy to contribute too.”
Suthichai said companies or organisations that gave donations to the Nation University could also get free performances at their offices.
He said activities of the Nation Band, the Nation U Band, and the Nation Orchestra were among efforts to equip students at the Nation University with work skills and
prepare them to step into the world of professionals.
