Nikom made the decision on the suggestion by Deputy House Speaker Charoen Jankomol. The meeting should resume after a joint whips' meeting Wednesday morning.
The joint House-Senate meeting to deliberate the charter amendment lasted 12 hours. Only one article was deliberated, concerning the name of the law. There are 13 articles in total.
During the 12 hours, there were at least 5 breaks amid chaos and protests by parliamentarians especially Democrat MPs.
Protests started when Nikom chaired the meeting. Chaos continued even after House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont brought in police to maintain peace.
