SET index opens higher

The Stock Exchange of Thailand index opened on Friday, after days of sell-off.

At 10.14am, it gained 15.29 points or 1.13 per cent to 1,367.10 points.
Throughout this week, the index declined for four straight days: 3.27 per cent on Monday, 1.98 per cent on Tuesday, 1.15 per cent on Wednesday and 0.25 per cent on Thursday.
A strategist at Thanachart Securities expected a rebound today, after days of losses. He also noted that the stronger baht today indicated that some of foreign funds have returned.
The Thai baht was firmer on Friday, traded at 32.06 per US dollar at 8.15am, against the four-year low at 32.12 yesterday.
