Democrats agree to meet with national reform coordinator Banharn

The opposition Democrat Party has agreed to hold talks with the premier's representative on political reform, party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Thursday.

"I’m ready to talk with Banharn [Silpa-archa] if he contacts me. I will tell him the root cause of the problems which, in fact, have come from the government itself. And the government has to end the conflicts," Abhisit said.

Former PM and chief advisor of Chart Thai Pattana Party Banharn Silpa-archa was assigned by Yingluck Shinnawatra on Sunday to be responsible for the national reform council. He will now serve as the coordinator of the national reform initiative, responsible for pushing for the creation of a roadmap for politics, economy and society.
