MCOT 'killed interview with Sasin'

Government spokesman Teerat Ratanasevi insisted yesterday the government had nothing to do with the suspension of an interview recorded with environmentalist Sasin Chalermlarp about his campaign against the Mae Wong Dam that had been due to air last Satur

Teerat said the suspension was ordered by an MCOT censorship committee and the government had not intervened in the matter. MCOT President Anek Permvongseni should explain the suspension.

Late on Monday, after the discussion between MCOT executives and TV Burapa, the producer of the censored interview, there was an agreement that the interview would be aired on October 12.

Meanwhile, Teerat said Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra had assigned her deputy Plodprasop Suraswadi to explain details about Mae Wong Dam to the public.
