Police allege the arrest followed an investigation into a northeastern prison’s drug-trafficking ring that stored the drugs in a Bangkok apartment. Police reportedly staked the place out until they arrested Suriyo in a sedan, along with 50,000 yaba pills. The subsequent search of an apartment found the rest of the narcotics.
Suriya, released from Nakhon Ratchasima Prison last year, said he was hired by and had taken phone instructions from a former cellmate to transport drugs at Bt30,000 per time.
