The body was identified as that of Vilathep Vivavong of PTT Lao, Chavalit said. He was one of three PTT staff members who died in the accident. The bodies of the other two, who were Thai nationals, were still unaccounted for yesterday.
Meanwhile The Associated Press reported that it now appeared there were no Canadians on board the doomed flight.
According to the airline, 44 passengers and five crew were on board, and a person who was originally listed as a Canadian has now been added to the list of Vietnamese nationals.
The ATR-72 turboprop plane crashed as it prepared to land in stormy weather at Pakse Airport after a flight from Vientiane.
The 44 passengers were 16 Laotians, seven French travellers, six Australians, five Thais, three South Koreans, three Vietnamese, and one each from the United States, Malaysia, mainland China and Taiwan.
