Master Sergeant First Class Sirisak Janleung was accompanied by staff judge advocate and members of his family, but refused to talk to reporters. The suspected gunman, 31-year-old Sukhum Daengkulwanich, is still at large.
Sirisak’s surrender followed the arrest on Wednesday of Kosin Srinuankhan, 19, who allegedly rode the getaway motorcycle used in the shooting. Yesterday morning police took Kosin to re-enact the crime at the scene of the shooting at the Rajamangala National Stadium. Kosin is scheduled to appear before court today.
On Wednesday, police said Kosin confessed to riding the getaway motorbike in exchange for Bt20,000 and implicated Sirisak as the man who hired him for the job. Sirisak was allegedly given Bt100,000 by another person in Buri Ram to shoot Thanom. Kosin said the shooting was related to conflicts stemming from a dispute over a football match.
