Senate to debate amnesty bill in a week

Senate Speaker Nikom Wairatpanij on Friday said the upper chamber would tentatively debate the amnesty bill on November 8 or no later than November 11.
Following the House passage on Thursday’s night, Nikom said senators would normally spend 60 days for the deliberation but this process could be shortened because the draft had only seven provisions .
The Senate should be able to complete its deliberation of the bill before the legislative recess on November 28, he said.
