House speaker accepts censure motion

Somsak Kiatsuranont, speaker of the House of Representatives, has agreed to put the opposition's censure motion against the premier and her ministers on the House agenda, though a copy of the impeachment request against the PM is required before the moti

This impeachment request, as per the Constitution’s Section 116, will also set the direction the censure debate will take.
Somsak said that whips from both parties would have to choose their motions on the day of the censure debate, but this must be done before November 28 – the day the current parliamentary session ends.
Chief opposition whip Jurin Laksanawisit said the censure debate against the government was in keeping with the Constitution, adding that it should be allowed to continue for at least three days so the opposition has time to investigate.
