The executives, whose five-year political ban came to an end on Monday, include Noppadon Pattama, Chusak Sirinil, Prasong Buranapong and Sutha Chansaeng. They were welcomed at the ruling party’s headquarters by Pheu Thai leader Charupong Ruangsuwan and party secretary-general Phumtham Wechayachai. Meanwhile, former deputy head of the disbanded Chart Thai Party Somsak Prissananatakul said if the House was dissolved in the next day or two, then he and fellow party members, including ex-PM Banharn Silpa-archa, would be able to run in the next election. Banharn was also under a five-year political ban, which expired on Monday.
As per the Constitution, if an election is held owing to House dissolution then every MP candidate must be a party member for at least 30 days to be eligible. But, Somsak and fellow party members will apply to become members of the Chart Thai Pattana Party soon.
