Fewer-than-expected commuters on mass transit lines

Two mass transit lines witnessed a lower-than-usual number of commuters today.

BTS Group Holdings, the operator of BTS skytrain network, said the number of passengers on Monday is lower than expected. Anat Arbhabhirama, adviser to the board of directors, said some passengers may have some difficulties accessing the service, while some work from home.
Ronachit Yaemsaard, deputy governor of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority which owns MRT subway network, said that the number of commuters was lower than usual on Monday morning. He said that some avoid travelling into the inner city area, following protesters' siege of several intersections.
