On Sunday, about 3,000 officials from 28 districts were dispatched to clean up Asoke, Ratchaprasong, Pathumwan and Silom intersections after anti-government protesters moved out of those areas to Lumpini Park.
Other officials will go to the park to spray chemicals to kill mosquitoes and prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
Meanwhile, King’s Guard commissioner Maj-General Varah Boonyasit said the First Division would keep deploying 56 battalions of troops and 176 teams to keep security in areas where there are political rallies. The number of the officials who kept security for protesters at the Ratchaprasong, Pathumwan and Asoke rally sites had been reduced while teams had been sent to secure 37 spots around Lumpini Park.
