Senatorial voter turnout 42.78 per cent

The Election Commission announced Monday that it was pleased with the 42.78 per cent voter turnout of the senatorial election on Sunday.

EC deputy secretary general Somsak Suriyamongkol said 20.873 million or 42.78 per cent of 48.78 eligible voters came out to vote nationwide.
He said 82.84 per cent of the ballots were valid while 5.2 per cent became invalid and 11.96 per cent of the ballots were marked with “abstention” option.
Somsak Lamphun saw the highest voter turnout of 11.96 per cent.
