Revenue chief threatens backward tax probes against no-show summoned persons

The Revenue Department chief Monday threatened to conduct backward tax avoidance probes against those who ignored junta's summons.

Sutthichai Sungkamanee, director general of the Revenue Department, said those, who ignored the summons of the National Council for Peace and Order, would face probes by the National Anti-Money Laundering Office and the Office of Narcotics Control Board as well.
Sutthichai has been appointed as a member of the assets probe panel.
Sutthichai said if his department and other agencies found irregularities related to taxes and transactions of the summoned persons, the panel would alert the junta to take legal actions.
