Call for scrutiny of three spending projects
Pramon Sutivong, chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Organisation of Thailand, said the group would propose that the committee scrutinising fiscal spending look into three mega-projects in addition to the eight projects currently under scrutiny.
They include the Bt241-billion procurement project of Thai Airways International to buy 38 air planes, the Bt40-billion solar power project for 800 communities nationwide, and the construction of the second phase of Suvarnabhumi Airport as well as expansion of Don Mueang and Phuket airports.
Pramon said his network would also propose barring personnel working in the justice system, such as attorneys, from sitting on the board of state enterprises where the organisations faced legal issues, because of likely conflict of interest.
