The suspects, aged 20 and 29, were arrested late Friday in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, according to Rahim Ahmad, director of the Selangor state wildlife protection department.
"We made the arrest after a tip-off from concerned citizens," he said in a press briefing.
Officials seized one Malayan sun bear, 24 barn owls, one common palm civet, one leopard cat, two Sunda flying lemurs and a Malayan porcupine which was already dead when the authorities arrived.
