Thai-Vietnam agreement on cultural ties

For the first time ever, Thailand and Vietnam decided to sign a pact reinforcing cultural ties between the two countries.
As part of Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha’s visit to Vietnam this week, Culture Minister Veera Rojpojanarat signed a memorandum of understanding with his counterpart to initiate cultural exchange cooperation. The cooperation will focus on six areas, namely performing arts, fine arts, library and archiving, cultural heritage, anthropology and films.
The MoU comes ahead of the set?ting up of the Asean Economic Community in 2015 and marking the 40 years of Thai-Vietnam diplomatic ties in 2016, Veera said.
