The Criminal Court Wednesday jailed former Tambon Phokaew police chief Pol Col Charnchai Netiratthakarn for three years for offering a bribe of Bt30 million to then Constitutional Court judge ML Krairirk Kasemsan to help the Thai Rak Thai Party in the par

The court noted that Charnchai had twice attempted to bribe Krairirk and while the money was never paid, the crime had been committed.

The court said that Charnchai’s claim that he was joking was not reasonable because he went to see Krairirk twice even though he had never previously visited the former constitutional court judge.
The court noted that Charnchai also told Krairirk that he owed a debt of gratitude to ‘Khunying Or’, apparently referring to the then wife of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, former Thai Rak Thai leader.
Charnchai said he would appeal against the ruling.
