Additional info sought on Pongpat network cases

A Royal Thai Police (RTP) committee looking into crimes allegedly committed by former Central Investigation Bureau commissioner Pol Lt-General Pongpat Chayaphan's network has returned the cases to investigators for additional details, a police source said

Metropolitan Police Bureau chief Pol Lt-General Sriwara Rangsiprammanakul said that though he had not heard about the high-profile cases being returned to investigators, he said it usually took a day or two to find additional data.
It is believed the police panel will accept the cases once investigators at different stations in Bangkok where crimes were allegedly committed fill in the gaps.
The alleged cases include intimidating a creditor to cut the amount owed from Bt120 million to Bt20 million; a debtor being forced to repay a Bt37-million loan ahead of time; a graduate student claiming he could not attend classes because he was running errands for the Palace; and two catering deals in which suspects cited royal backing to win bids.
