At a press conference yesterday, Rusoh police superintendent Pol Colonel Reungsak Buadaeng said the two boys had conspired with two other youths to rob the 7-Eleven store on Tha Reu-Rusoh Road at 00.25am yesterday. Police also found a fake AK47 rifle and a handmade pistol on them. The duo confessed to the crime, saying they were copying a film plot.
Following the robbery, the 7-Eleven staff told police that two men – dressed to look like Muslim women with their faces covered – entered the shop and pulled out AK47 rifles and shotguns. They told the staff not to resist. One of the two then called a third accomplice, who later entered the shop, while a fourth guarded the entrance.
The staff said they loaded a basket with goods, and after failing to open the till, they escaped on two motorcycles parked outside the store.
Members of staff said they so-called robbers only took some toothpaste, shampoo and snacks. The robbery, which took just 12 minutes, was captured on the security cameras.
