A teacher was injured in a roadside bomb attack in Narathiwat's Bacho district yesterday morning. Police suspect the attack was part of ongoing unrest in the deep South.
A 20kg homemade bomb was placed in a roadside drainage pipe and set off when a pickup carrying a team of six soldiers escorting teachers drove by at 8.30am. Shrapnel from the bomb slightly cut the leg of Ban Beu Cho School teacher Somjit Wongketjai, 59, who was riding a motorcycle in the security caravan.
