Deputy Defence Minister and Army Chief Gen Udomdej Sitabutr said Monday that the National Council for Peace and Order had rejected former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra's request to leave the kingdom because of a pending lawsuit against her.
Udomdej, who is NCPO secretary general, said the NCPO saw that public prosecutors were about to file a lawsuit against Yingluck in the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Office.
