KMITL fraud case goes to public prosecutor

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) Monday submitted an 8,700-page case of alleged embezzlement of Bt1.47 billion from King Mongkut's Institute for Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) to the Bangkok Min Buri Court public prosecutor.
Case investigators agreed to sue 14 suspects – including former KMITL executives Thawil Phuegma and Sappasit Limnorarat, as well as key suspect Kittisak Matthujad, who is still on the run – on five charges, said CSD deputy chief Pol Col Nos Sawetlek.
The allegations were of theft, forgery of official documents and using them, embezzlement (where a suspect wasn’t a state officials, he/she would face a charge of aiding embezzlement), negligence of duty, and money laundering.
