BMA gets Bt800m from Austrian firm

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has received 20.5 million euro (Bt800 million) from Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzefug AG in accordance with the arbitration committee's order, deputy governor Asawin Kwanmuang said Thursday.

This payment is in relation to the city’s procurement of 315 trucks and 30 boats for fire-fighting worth Bt6.687 billion.
Asawin said BMA has still not been able to get the Bt809-million parking fee cut by half.
As BMA aims to put these vehicles to use, a committee is inspecting the 170 trucks parked in Nonthaburi’s Sai Noi district and it should have results by the end of this month, he said.
