Energy reform group petitions NLA against petroleum bills

ML Kornkasiwat Kasemsri Thursday led members of the People's Alliance for Energy Reform to submit a petition to National Legislative Assembly (NLA) chairman Pornpetch Wichitcholachai opposing two petroleum bills proposed by the Energy Ministry.

The group appealed to Prime Minister General Prayut Chanocha to put on hold the two bills, which have been approved by the Cabinet and the Council of State and are set to be submitted to the NLA for debate.
The group believes the two bills do not adequately protect the interests of the public and the country because of numerous loopholes that may lead to corruption.
