A graffiti artist yesterday was sentenced to a year in jail after the Criminal Court found him guilty of vandalising public property by spray-painting the signs of the Office of the Courts of Justice on Ratchadaphisek Road.
Nattapol Kem-ngern, 22, a musician and artist for a movie set, confessed that on May 24, he had used black paint to form the letter “A” with a circle around it in two spots on May 24.
The court convicted him for violating Article 360 of the Criminal Code and several articles of the Public Cleanliness and Order Act.
The judge handed him a sentence of two years in prison, but commuted it to one year, citing his cooperation. The defendant was remanded after no one moved for his release on bail.
He received a suspended one-year sentence on May 27 for contempt of court involving the same offence.
