Spokesman denies Royal Thai Police bought hacking software

Police spokesman Pol Lt Prawoot Thawornsiri Monday denied that the Royal Thai Police bought hacking software from a hacking firm worth Bt10 million in 2012.

Prawoot said the report was not true and police had never bought such software because the Royal Thai Police had no policy to spy on or to steal information from the people.
He said police might study certain hacking software but the Royal Thai Police had never paid for it because police could seek the software on their own without buying.
