Dapong said the 3,500 schools or ten per cent of schools under the supervision of the Office of Basic Education Commission will take part in the pilot project in the class hours cut from 1,200 hours a year to 840 hours.
The cut would see class hours end at 2 pm instead of 3.30 pm.
The cut would start in November when the second semester begins.
The Education Ministry will evaluate the outcome of the pilot project before deciding to expand it, Dapong added.
