Kittinan Khaosut, director of the BMA's Social Development Department, said such a subsidy would be given to infants born between October 1, 2015, to September 30, 2016, until they were one-year-old.
Families qualified to receive the subsidy must have less than Bt3,000 income per month, or no land, or be in a dependant status (meaning the families had a disabled person, an elderly person, or child under 15 living with a single parent), he explained.
District officials would register and inspect the families’ living conditions to ensure they fitted the criteria before submitting the names list to the Social Development and Human Security Ministry who would pay the subsidy directly to the recipients, he added.
