The theme this year is “Heritage of the XXIst century, a history of future”.
It stresses how the concept of heritage is part of a constant enrichment and a historical continuity, converting the latest conceptions into heritage for future generations.
The public will be able to view the work of French contemporary artist Jacques Vieille, visit an exhibition by l’Institut Francais, which made short films about emblematic French architectural constructions in the 21st century, and view the different construction stages of the French embassy’s chancery.
At the end of their tour of the residence, visitors will be presented the book “The Residence of France in Bangkok”.
The book was published in French and Thai by Les Editions Internationales du Patrimoine on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the donation of the concession by King Chulalongkorn in 1875 to the French Republic.
The European Heritage Days will also be an opportunity to raise public awareness about the Paris Climate 2015 conference, which will be held in December.
An exhibition entitled “60 Solutions to Climate Change” will showcase 21 photos by famous photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand that highlight concrete solutions in the fight against climate change and a model of low-carbon growth.
There will also be a contest to see which visitor can take the best photo of the residence as seen from its garden (#JEPBKK).
