Wilas wants graft probe of top BMA official

Democrat Party politician Wilas Chanpitak will next Tuesday ask the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to investigate a deputy governor of Bangkok - who was not named - for possible graft, he revealed Friday.

Earlier this month, Wilas gave a press briefing, accusing the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) of obscure procurement deals. He also noted possibly wrongful reshuffles of BMA officials.
Wilas, a former MP, also accused Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra of negligence. Despite having acknowledged the matter, the governor chose to go on a working trip to China instead of ordering investigation, he said.
