Lao man charged in murder-dismemberment case

Police have charged a Lao man for allegedly murdering and dismembering a Myanmar woman whose body parts were recovered at several Bangkok khlong locations on Sunday.

Hua Mark police have charged Jai Kenwankham, 39, with killing and dismembering Mali Thaiyai, 27.
Jai was arrested at Jinda apartments at Soi Ramkhamhaeng 53 in Bang Kapi, Bangkok.
Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahatawon said Jai confessed to the crime – allegedly saying he “impulsively” killed her after they argued and cut up the body and put the parts into fertiliser bags.
Jai allegedly disposed of the bags early Saturday morning.
Police said Jai used to work in slaughterhouse as a butcher in Lao before moving to Thailand and working at a restaurant.
Following a raid on Jai’s apartment, police said they found Mali’s cellphone and a knife while there was a blood stains in the toilet.
