Wanted Frenchman nabbed

Officers from the police's Special Investigation Bureau have arrested a Frenchman who allegedly was involved in a bank robbery in his home country.

The suspect, whose name on a suspected fake passport was Andre Donatho, was apprehended at a condominium in Bangkok’s Soi On Nut (Sukhumvit 77) on Friday night. The man reportedly confessed that his real name was Cabau Andre Espiasse and he had been in Thailand for five years. The arrest was part of the national police chief’s policy to crackdown on transnational criminals and passport forgery-related offences.
Police said the Frenchman, who had served 10 years behind French bars according to police investigation, was initially charged with illegal entry and stay in the country and was also suspected to be involved in a bank robbery case in his home country.
