Harrison Ford earned 1,000 dollars per week for 1977 Star Wars role

Los Angeles - A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Hollywood superstar Harrison Ford worked for 1,000 dollars a week on what would become the original Star Wars film, the actor told a US TV talk show Tuesday.
Speaking on the ABC network's Good Morning America, Ford said he initially turned down the role over low pay before finally agreeing to it - "for the first one," he said.
The latest installment of the blockbuster science fiction classic, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, features the 73-year-old Ford in a reprise of his role as swashbuckling space smuggler Han Solo.
Ford is one of few to have seen the new film by JJ Abrams, which isn't due in US cinemas December 18 but has reportedly already set records for ticket pre-sales.
"It was great," he said. "It's a wonderful movie."
On his salary for 2015, however, Ford kept mum.
