Thailand ranked 21st in Best Countries ranking

The overall score in the ranking which covers nine categories was 4.1.  It is among the top 10 in four main categories: 4th in Adventure; 8th in Heritage; and 4th in Movers; and 10th in Open for Business.

The 2016 Best Countries rankings, conducted in partnership with brand strategy firm BAV Consulting and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, asked more than 16,000 survey participants from four regions to associate countries with specific attributes. 

Thailand is ranked No.1 in terms of starting a business, thanks to the short 28-day process and low cost. 

Though, Thailand is the 26th best place for headquarters. The Best Countries to Headquarter a Corporation are ranked based on scores from more than 4,000 business decision-makers on a compilation of nine equally weighted country attributes: connected to the rest of the world, corrupt, economically stable, educated population, favourable tax environment. In this area, Canada tops the ranking though corporate income tax is 26 per cent, compared to 20 per cent in Thailand.
