First drop in consumer confidence in four months

Thailand's consumer confidence dropped in January, after four months of increase, according to the survey of the University of Thai Chamber of Commerce.

It said that pulling down the confidence was mainly concerns in global economic condition, particularly the slowdown in China. Meanwhile, agricultural product prices remained low while the cost of living remained high.
Sustaining the confidence in the month was anticipation of benefits from public spending programmes.
