EPPO and ERIA inks cooperation

This MOU is the first of its kind between ERIA and Energy Planning and Policy Office (EPPO) of Ministry of Energy. It was signed by Prof Hidetoshi Nishimura, President of ERIA and Dr. Twarat Sutrabutr, Director General of EPPO.

Energy policy research is the key pillar of ERIA research activities. ERIA has set up an energy research unit to undertake further research on this pivotal issue covering ASEAN and East Asia. They are focused on policies for sustainable energy infrastructure development, energy efficiency and conservation and region market integration.

According to “Energy Outlook and Analysis of Energy Saving Potential in East Asia”, which was prepared by ERIA last year, East Asia could save energy consumption by 13 per cent and carbon emission by 24 per cent in 2030 if the energy efficiency and saving measures are fully implemented.
