Indonesian passenger planes collide on runway, no injuries
Jakarta - Two airplanes belonging to Indonesian airlines collided on a runway at a Jakarta airport on Monday, leaving parts ofthe aircraft damaged, an official said.
A Boeing 737-800 NG operated by Batik Air was about to take off from Halim Perdanakusuma airport when it collided with an ATR plane, which was being towed, Transport Ministry spokesman Julius Barata said.
The Boeing's left wing was broken while the ATR, which belongs to TransNusa Air Services, had its tail damaged, Barata said. No one was injured in the incident, which prompted the temporary closure of the airport.
