Activists Sirawith Serithiwat and Anon Nampa led Wednesday’s event, which followed an activity at Victory Monument on Tuesday.
According to Sirawith’s Facebook post, the group would use non-violent methods against the junta. They would just stand in silence among the crowd at the Skywalk, symbolically calling for justice.
As of 6pm, at least 50 police officers had arrived to monitor the protest. Two UN officials also showed up to observe the event.
Police cordoned off the area with a tape that said: “Danger, Please Keep Out.”
A policeman said the activists had not asked for permission to stage the event and that police had not decided whether to detain them.
