Assoc Prof Somsak Lohlekha, the president of the Medical Council, was commenting on the case of Rangsit University that cancelled its entrance exams for its medical school, faculty of dentistry and faculty of pharmacy after three students were found to have use smart watches to receive answers from someone.
The university refused to name the three students, hoping to use them as witnesses to act against the persons hired to cheat the exams.
Somsak said before any graduate of a medical school can become a certified doctor, the council will check his or her background. If the graduate is found to have cheated an exam, he or she will not get a doctor permit.
