NACC sets up panel to probe New Year ‘Motif of Light’ project

THE anti-graft commission Friday agreed to set up a subcommittee to investigate alleged irregularities in Bangkok’s “Motif of Light” project, naming 14 senior officials including Deputy Governor Chumphol Sampaophol who might be called.
Governor MR Sukhumband Baribatra Sukhumbhand Paribatra, who was named by the Office of the Auditor-General early this month for his involvement, was not mentioned by the National Anti-Corruption Commission.
The government might be called into the case if the subcommittee finds Sukhumbhand was involved, NACC secretary-general Sansern Poljiak said.
