Police reveal drug busts

The Narcotics Suppression Bureau yesterday announced three separate drug busts with a total of 11 suspects apprehended including a Laotian couple accused of dealing marijuana.

NSB commissioner Pol Lt-General Rewat Klinkesorn told a press conference that Laotian couple Wan and Khamwilai Sombundid and five alleged Thai accomplices were arrested and 300 kilograms of marijuana seized on Thursday.
Following a police investigation of the alleged Nakhon Phanom-based marijuana ring, a sting operation was held to buy 300kg of marijuana for Bt1.8 million from the gang. The alleged Thai accomplices were arrested at the delivery spot in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Noen Sung district and they implicated the Laotian couple, resulting in their arrest at a shopping mall’s food court as they allegedly came to collect the payment.
In the second case, police arrested three men aged 29-41 and seized 100,000 yaba pills, a zip-lock pack of crystal meth or ice, and a pistol and seven bullets in Bangkok on Thursday night, Rewat said. The third case involves the arrest of a 23-year-old suspect and the seizure of 206,000 yaba pills at a Nakhon Sawan checkpoint on early Friday morning, he added.
