Some 10 representatives of 31 victims of an alleged scam involving a Bt400,000 tour package to Europe who were abandoned abroad, yesterday filed a complaint with Consumer Protection Police.

The group, accompanied by lawyer Pisit Chutipornpongchai, accused a Bangkok tour company of swindling them.
Master’s degree student Orathai (last name withheld) said she and 30 fellow master’s students wanted to take a field trip to Germany, Switzerland and Italy from April 9-16. The travel agency arranged all the plane tickets, meals and accommodations at a cost of Bt73,000 per person.
The trip went as planned during their stay in Germany but they started to encounter several difficulties with restaurants and accommodation in Switzerland.
Then they were completely deserted in the last three days in Italy.
They had to cover their own expenses, so after they returned to Thailand, they wanted to file the complaint, she added.
